The Agriculture, Environmental Studies & Applied Sciences Department at Belgut Technical Training Institute (Belgut TTI) is dedicated to advancing knowledge and practical skills in agriculture, environmental stewardship, and applied sciences. The department offers a range of specialized courses designed to equip students with the expertise needed to address contemporary challenges in agriculture and environmental management. Below is a brief overview of the five courses offered:
Agricultural Extension
This course focuses on the methods and principles of agricultural extension services. Students learn how to effectively communicate and disseminate agricultural knowledge to farmers and rural communities, fostering innovation and best practices in agriculture.
Horticulture Produce Processing Management
This course provides in-depth knowledge on the post-harvest handling, processing, and marketing of horticultural produce. Students are trained in techniques to enhance the quality and shelf life of fruits, vegetables, and flowers, ensuring they meet market standards.
Horticulture Nursery Management
This course covers the principles and practices of managing horticultural nurseries. Students learn about plant propagation, nursery infrastructure, pest and disease control, and the business aspects of running a nursery.
Apiary Attendant
This specialized course trains students in the management of beekeeping operations. Topics include hive management, bee health, honey production, and the environmental importance of bees. Practical sessions provide hands-on experience in apiary maintenance.
Dairy Farm Management
This course focuses on the management of dairy farms, emphasizing sustainable practices. Students learn about dairy cattle nutrition, breeding, milk production, and farm management techniques. The course also covers the economics of dairy farming and strategies to improve productivity.
